The severity score is calculated by adding the scores for each of the four questions: (1) the extent to which injury, illness, or other health problems have affected sports participation; (2) training volume; (3) running performance; and (4) the extent to which the individual has experienced symptoms.


Based on the responses, a severity score ranging from 0 to 100 is created. The severity score provides an overview of the injury course over time and also differentiates periods of lower and higher severity.


In addition, a "substantial problem" is be recorded if the user selects answer options 1.4 2.3 2.4. 2.5 3.3 3.4 or 3.6
